Lawrence was born June 25, 1931 to Andrew and Christina (Burchard) Linderman on a farm in Hillside Township in Edmunds County, South Dakota.
He served two years in the US Army during the Korean War (1952-1954). He married Irene Allbee on May 25, 1952 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Onaka, SD.
Upon his return from service he worked construction from 1954-1960 when they moved to the family farm. He and his brother, LeRoy, farmed together starting in 1967. Their bond and a strong love of farming and family kept the operation going until 1997 when he and Irene moved to Bowdle, SD. Lawrence loved family gatherings at the farm and made sure that family was always welcome. He enjoyed working with and visiting with neighbors as well over the many years on the farm.
When they moved town, he worked for the city of Bowdle until his health failed.
Lawrence is survived by his 3 daughters, Lynette Kraft of Ipswich, Linda (Eugene) Kraft of Aberdeen, LeAnn (Randy) Smith of Adelanto, CA; two brothers, Wendlin and LeRoy; two sisters, Johanna Weyand and Agnes Steckler; 13 grandchildren, Ryan Kraft, Brad Kraft, April Kraft, Kayla Wambach, Nichole Smith, Ben Smith, Sarah DeRouchey, Leslie Gisi, Amanda Fischer, Joe Kraft, Brian Linderman, Andrew Linderman and Brandon Linderman as well as 14 great-grandchildren.
His parents; wife, Irene; sons Leslie and infant son, Lawrence, Jr.; one sister, Delores; and son-in-law, Ed Kraft preceded him in death. His brother, Alvin, died just one day after Lawrence went home to Heaven.
